Viviane Gruais

Viviane Gruais has been living and working in Quebec since 2010. The artist's work is essentially inspired by reading the landscape and territory, both urban and natural. Territory, memory, geodesy of the land, trace, imprint  all these notions lead her to purify and subtract the ocularly invasive, in order to engage in a renewed dialogue with the panorama.

Her creativity is constantly renewed through the contemplation of creation. These vital forces  from birth to death, from life to the transformation of being into matter  lead her to create landscape states that combine lightness, strength, and dynamism. In some of her works, a vivid desire to integrate the human figure into these landscapes invites us to experience our deepest identity and spirituality.

Other series, such as Urban Poetry, stem from the need to communicate beyond words and to transcribe the very essence of poetry. The artist, highly sensitive to language and to the world around her, also uses this medium to express a deeper truth, one tat is closer to the act of creation she observes. The entire process of creation fascinates the artist. Viviane has always enjoyed associating and integrat
