Sofie Richer
Her sculptures combine metal and plexiglass. She creates metal frames that she cuts, bends, and welds; she then cuts the plexiglass into small plates on which she paints. Genre scenes, humor, and color are her favored elements.
Sofie Richer undertakes numerous large-scale projects: whether creating massive stage sets, completely redesigning spaces, or producing murals and metal sculptures, she often finds herself alone before a huge heap of raw material. She sets to work, the hours pass, the raw matter diminishes, and the artwork takes shape.
